Accrington

From a fairly humble access, at a point where the railway line originally crossed Nuttall Street on a bridge, the Hyndburn Greenway forms a rural bridleway that leads two miles up the 1:38 incline to Baxenden. Oh to have seen and heard a Stanier 2-6-4T or Cravens twin power car DMU making the ascent prior to the 1966 closure. 16th October 2017.
