Powderhall Loop
Looking west towards Leith Walk from Broughton Road in July 2004. The land on the left, once part of Brown Bros Rosebank Engineering Works, was being prepared for a planned housing development. In the left background, beyond Dryden Street footbridge, is the former Shrubhill Tram Depot, also standing on land scheduled for redevelopment. [Addendum: The Powderhall branch has since closed, with Powderhall depot ceasing operations in 2016 and that site also earmarked for future housing.]
