Skelmersdale
There isn't a railway here and there hasn't been one, however the derelict site of the former Glenburn Sports College (right) and West Lancashire College (left) has been mentioned in a proposal to bring rail back to Skelmersdale. The document suggests extending the Merseyrail service east of Kirkby and leave the existing Wigan to Kirkby line east of Rainford Jct. This is the proposed station site in Skelmersdale and interestingly a planning notice for the demolition of these buildings on or after 24 April 2017 was found during the visit.
