Bury Bolton Street

Interior of Bury South signal box taken during a supervised visit on 25th March 2017 with kind permission of the ELR. This view looks south along the old electric line towards Buckley Wells sheds. The operational Heywood line runs behind. After closure in 1980 this box became little more than a shell and everything in this picture is new, including the 65 lever frame. The few white levers illustrate that the vast majority in the frame are operational and the whole box is a credit to the Signalling Department of the East Lancashire Railway.
