View in direction of Merryhill Farm and Elbowend Junction from Aberlyn Level Crossing - long ago when the line was last re-ballasted around 1970/1 as a boy the photographer was invited into the cab of the Class 20 hauling the ballast train at this point, the very first loco he 'cabbed'.
