Barnby Basin
A view of part of the display board for the Silkstone Waggonway facilities at Barnby Canal Basin, Barugh, between Barnsley & Cawthorne, also shows the Silkstone Branch of the Yorkshire & Lancaster Railway as running across the A635 road close by. This confirms that the remaining section of bridge abutment on the south side of the A635 See image 56220 was for an over-bridge on this branch, which ran west then south from Silkstone Junction, mid way between Barnsley & Darton stations, on the L & Y line to Horbury Junction.
