Lynton

The refuelling process on the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, as seen here, involves using diverted water from the River Lyn to fill the 700 gallon tank of the car at the upper level. When both cars are ready to depart, water is discharged from the lower car until the correct balance is achieved and they begin to move.
