Witham

The end of the line….. Following final closure of the Maldon-Witham line in 1966, a half mile length was retained at the Witham end to serve the Rom River factory. This is the rural setting of the end of that stub, well beyond the factory siding, in 1977. The pasture to the left was transformed into a dense housing estate by 1980 and this buffer stop ended its days amidst suburbia.
