Until recently, the tramway civil engineers' sidings and yard were located at Thornton Gate. An intricate track layout remains, with passing loop and turnback siding, but the yard itself is now trackless and being redeveloped and the access point is redundant. Flexity Tram 016 passes the site of the yard as it leaves Thornton Gate for Fleetwood on 16 January.
