Cardenden

Running south from Cardenden Station is the steeply-sided, woodend glen of Carden Den, seen here in February 2012. Along the eastern slopes ran a horse-drawn 'tramway' serving a small mine. It appears on the Ordnance survey maps of 1856 and 1895, but is gone by 1915. a A trans-shipment siding ran off the NBR to the east of Cardenden station. See image 37612
