Coalbrookdale

The 200' span Albert Edward Bridge over the River Severn at Coalbrookdale is almost identical to the better known Victoria Bridge on the Severn Valley Railway. The bridge still carries coal trains to the nearby Buildwas Power Station and is seen here in 1982 with a Brush Class 47 lifting a train of empty hoppers away from Buildwas and back to Madeley Junction.
