Barnoldswick

The Dalesman railtour of 4 May 1963 was organised by the RCTS West Riding branch and hauled throughout by 3442 The Great Marquess. Starting and finishing at Bradford Forster Square the special visited various branches in Yorkshire and Lancashire. 3442 is seen here running round at the terminus at Barnoldswick (colloq. Barlick) where, in the absence of on-train dining facilities, the opportunity to purchase one of the renowned Stanley's Crumpets was doubtless greatly appreciated by many of the participants.
