Kirkdale

A morning rush hour Kirkby to Liverpool Central service, formed by 508104, calls at Kirkdale and stands under the modern bridge that carries a street level booking office and is connected to the platforms by lifts and 48 step staircases. Out of sight, in a tunnel directly underneath the station, is the still well used freight line to Seaforth Container Terminal on the River Mersey.
