Bowes

Pedestrian access to the site of Bowes station on 20 March 2010. The steps up from alongside the A67 meet a farm access road half way, on the far side of which a second flight leads up to the station itself. Part of the remains can be seen just above the steps (see image 28262), while the medieval castle - like structure on the right is the remains of a goods shed. Between the two ruins is the roof of a large farm building that now stands on the trackbed. In operational days, the line passed above the camera position on a bridge over the A67.
