Lancaster

A Manchester Airport service runs into Lancaster from the north as seen from the end of Platform 3. The green railings alongside TPE 185138 mark the site of an additional bridge that carried the Green Ayre link line over Long Marsh Lane. This line had overhead catenary and was used by an EMU service to Green Ayre and Morecambe until 1966. After freight to Lancaster Power Station ceased in 1980 the trackbed was converted into a cycleway that starts by the old bridge abutment.
