Liverpool Street

Compared to its bright, present day appearance, Liverpool Street station looked every bit its age in the late 1970s, even on a summer's evening, as pictured here. Electronic departure boards were still in their infancy - the rather scruffy manual boards with each train's details can be seen stacked at the heads of the platforms. Just visible at platform 12 is a Class 309 EMU that will soon depart for Clacton and Walton.
