Carnforth (Midland Shed)
The other loco shed at Carnforth is the former Midland Railway Roundhouse that still stands alongside the Wennington line as seen here looking towards Borwick and Wennington. This opened in 1857 and, along with the former LNWR shed, closed in 1944 when the current LMS shed opened alongside Carnforth Station. The Midland roundhouse and associated buildings have been in industrial use for many years now.
