Largs
Accident at Largs on 11 July 1995 involving the 0615 service from Glasgow Central. The trains brakes failed, it hit the buffers, jumped 3 feet in the air, ran on through the station, then through the shops on Main Street. [Witness statement at the time]. Remarkably there were no serious injuries...but Largs station was never the same again!
