Bamber Bridge
A westbound Cravens 105 DMU calls at the low platforms at Bamber Bridge with a Colne - Preston service in September 1978 (compare with recent John McIntyre images). This view is towards the junction with the former East Lancs direct lines to Preston but from 1972 onwards trains were rerouted via Lostock Hall and onto the WCML at Farington Curve Junction. The waiting room shown here has since been replaced by a shelter and the station is now unstaffed.
