Fraserburgh

Second man detaching the solitary van from a class 26 which had arrived on the Saturday morning goods from Aberdeen in the loop outside the station goods yard. The loop had been constructed from the old roads from the passenger station to Aberdeen and St Combs. The van in the picture has the words sherry butts chalked on its side, which perhaps suggests a recent trip to Speyside. (On busier trains it was great to watch the crew and Broch station staff gravity shunt the wagons and vans into the appropriate sidings in the yard).
