Linby Colliery

Storm clouds begin to clear over Linby Colliery, north of Nottingham, in the 1980s as a pair of class 20s prepares to leave the sidings with a coal train. In its heyday Linby held the NCB record for the shortest time taken to produce one million tons of coal. The colliery closed in 1988.
