Inverness based 158715 crosses the A890 main road as it leaves Strathcarron heading for Kyle of Lochalsh. From here the road runs alongside the railway almost all the way to Stromeferry with a number of vantage points.

Strathcarron station, a lovely spot, sees trains cross twice a day. This view in July 2012 shows 158715 heading for Kyle with 158719 eastbound for Inverness.

Nice day for a walk... at least it was when we set out! A fine misty rain arrives from the west near Strathcarron station on a Monday afternoon in late September 2009, just as the 11.01 ex-Inverness passes by on its way to Kyle of Lochalsh.
