On 26th February a Cross Country Voyager passes just beyond Midcalder Junction on its way from Glasgow to Plymouth. This is a cross-country journey in the literal sense and the unit is heading north east towards its Edinburgh stop. This particular train arrived at its destination just two minutes late after covering 624 miles in 9 hours 45 minutes – an average of 64mph including 22 intermediate stops.
