The 1859 station at Kirkgunzeon, between Castle Douglas and Dumfries, seen from the north in September 2009. Some refurbishment has taken place since my previous visit, with the last of the platform remains now covered by the patio, although the station clock has reappeared. Much of the surrounding area, including the former goods yard, is now part of a large caravan park (which was about to experience some heavy rain!)
