Around a mile south of Hassendean station is this extremely long footbridge at Hassendeanburn Farm. The view looks south from the infilled cutting. [Ref query 2 January 2018]

The section of the Waverley Route between Hawick and Hassendean is still eminently walkable and indeed capable of reinstatement as a railway. Looking back south towards Hawick on 9th August 2013.

The footbridge at Hassendenean station seen on the 6th of October 2016. I have completely restored/repaired the footbridge now. Just a couple of main newel post finials and intermediate newels to have their caps replaced. And the ^Cross the line by the bridge^ signs to add. Otherwise it’s looking great and have had plenty of compliments.
