47709 The Lord Provost, with the inaugural train from Dyce on the re-opening of the station on 15 September 1984. A special hospitality tent was erected on the location of the Formatine and Buchan platforms which had been filled in to act as a car park.

Looking towards Dyce from Raiths Farm. The extending of the Dyce loop is obvious. Also obvious are the semaphore signals and their colour light replacements - presumably to be controlled by Dyce box (in distance). A service from the south terminates in the station.
