Broadford Marble Quarry Railway

Introduction

This line on the Isle of Skye connected marble and limestone quarries at Kilbride near Loch Cill to a pier at Broadford. It was opened by Skye Marble Ltd in 1910 and closed in 1913. From 1910 a locomotive was used, horse traction being used for most of the line's life. The line was 3ft with 2ft tramways within the quarries.
