Bagenalstown and Wexford Railway

Introduction

This railway is closed. The company failed in its attempt to reach Waterford. Following purchase of the independent Irish South Eastern Railway it lost its supporter, did not extend beyond Ballywilliam and closed in 1864.

It was purchased, repaired and reopened by the Waterford, New Ross and Wexford Junction Railway. Subsequent additional lines created a Waterford to Wexford line.
