Description of route

Top

From Ryde to Newport. The section between Wootton and Smallbrook Junction (a new station built on the site of the former junction) is preserved. Track re-instatement was required for much of its length and the station at Wootton is not at the original site which was found to be unstable. The original western terminus was Newport on the Cowes and Newport Railway.
