The Old Dalby Test Track

This line is today the Old Dalby Test Track used by Alstom and owned by the final remaining section of British Rail. The line is facing a bleak future (November 2005) as train testing has completed and the Government is not interested in taking over the line.

The line was built to provide a second route to London from Nottingham and tap iron ore in the Waltham area.
