This line is closed. The line was freight only and was built to relieve the neighbouring mainlines of some traffic. There was an intermediary goods depot at Auchtertool about half way along the line.

Thie line ran across fairly high ground from Cowdenbeath to Kickcaldy. Along the route the only village of note was at Auchtertool which had a goods station but no passenger station.
