Class 303 farewell, by E. Gervais Thribb (Milepost 17)

So farewell then, Blue Trains
Whose future turned out mostly orange.
Spiritual successors to the Glasgow caurs,
You made your debut
A month before "Coronation Street" -
And started the modern tradition
Of new trains that didn't work straight out of the box.
But, once sorted, you carried thousands
Along both banks of the Clyde
To their work at shipyards and factories
That no longer exist.
Keith's mum
Had a sewing machine
Made by Singer.

With thanks to Anon.
