RAILSCOT’s redevelopment blog
This is a blog about the redevelopment of the RAILSCOT website. It exists to give a taster of the new site and explain why this work is taking quite so long!

To reengineer a very large and pretty old website with thousands of pages and tens of thousands of photographs spread across four servers is quite a job. This job is further
complicated by the many new features being added to the site, the most notable of which is the new maps system.
The site is greatly expanding too, it will cover the whole of the UK, thus the site’s alter ego of RAILBRIT.
Images of the new site and links to the new pages in development will appear here (to start things off, there are three to the left). Releasing them here instead of directly using them in the website should help to check that things are working before I make them live. This is an issue as the site enjoys tens of thousands of visitors every day.
