Until recently Selkirk supported many mills. Some of which remain standing nearby the site of the station, but dis-used.
This line ran from Galashiels to Selkirk.
The Edinburgh and Hawick Railway, from which the Selkirk and Galashiels branched is now a walkway and has been landscaped. The junction faced west. Just to the south of the junction and over a viaduct was a gasworks, served by the railway.
The platform of this station remains in the front garden of a house. The remaining part of the timber-faced platform is now in poor condition and will probably not survive much longer. The trackbed is used as a bridle path.
The road to Selkirk now occupies the trackbed of the railway. The stationmaster's house still exists.
The station has been completely demolished. A single brick-built building exists to the North of the site. The goods yard has been re-used for new industrial premises.
