This line ran from the small town of Beattock to Moffat. Other than the towns the land has a low population and is partly farmed moorland.

Description of route

This was a single track railway which run uphill from Beattock to Moffat.

The branch met the Caledonian Railway at a south facing junction to the north of the station.. There was a bay platform at the station now used for tampers and other track maintenance machines. The station is now closed.

The site of the station is now partly a petrol station. Much of the platform remains along with a small station building, the main building having been demolished. This was a single platform station with a small goods yard and coal yard. There was a carpark to the west of the station. The main station building was demolished following closure to passengers.
