This line runs through countryside and small towns. The only towns of any size were at either end of the line, Kelso and St Boswells.
From Kelso Junction to Kelso. The line was originally double track but was later singled.
The photograph shows a freight train nearing Kelso Junction from the east, March 1968. Kelso Junction was a north facing junction with the Edinburgh and Hawick Railway just to the south of St Boswells station, where there was a bay platform for Kelso trains and locomotive shed.
There was a level crossing at this station. The station platforms have gone, but station building remains standing by the level crossing.
This station was located on an embankment.
This was a junction station for the Jedburgh Railway. The junction faced west.
This was a temporary terminus for Kelso, just to the west of Kelso, before the line was extended east to Kelso.
The branch formed an end-on junction with the North Eastern Railway to the east of the station at Kelso, the goods yard (which was approached from the east) being part of the branch from St Boswells.
Kelso station site is undergoing conversion to a road. The station was actually at Maxwellhaugh on the other bank from Kelso.
