Banff, Macduff and Turriff Junction Railway This railway is closed. The line provided a service between Inveramsay on the Great North of Scotland Railway to Turriff. The Banff, Macduff and Turriff Extension Railway extended the line to Macduff. The line was also known as the "Aberdeen and Turriff Railway". |

From Inveramsay to Turriff.
The initial Great North of Scotland Railway proposal did not succeed and the line was built by a local company.
This was the junction with the Great North of Scotland Railway.
This station site is now a house - the former station building.
This station had two platforms. You can just see the Northbound
platform edge on the left of this photograph, the trackbed having been infilled. In the
distance there was a level crossing and signalbox. The building was on the left by the
crossing.

This view looks south. The station building is now a house. The line
runs from the middle distance to the left of the picture - darker vegetation on the
trackbed can be seen.
This station is now a caravan park. A number of loading
banks survive. This was an end-on junction with the Banff,
Macduff and Turriff Extension Railway which continued the line on to Macduff.
The loading bank shown here may have been the original passenger terminus before
the line's extension. Note the base of the crane to left. The extension would
have passed through the caravans. The view looks North.
In 1915 An electric light railway to Maud was proposed. This line would have not had physical connection with the Formartine and Buchan Railway or the Banff, Macduff and Turriff Junction Railway.
