This line is closed. The railway ran from Alford to Kintore where it connected to the Great North of Scotland Railway. Today the nearest station is at Inverurie. |

This line runs through farmed countryside. There was a sawmill at Monymusk and quarries to the east of Kemnay and by Tillyfourie. Although the railway is closed a narrow gauge line operates from Alford station (re-built after closure and demolition) to Haughton Country Park. The website for this line seems to have disappeared, but another site has some information.
From Kintore to Alford
This station remains standing, but all is not quite as it appears; the station building was built to replace the original building which was demolished after closure of the line. The new building was built in connected with the narrow gauge line. The station had goods siding, a loop by a single platform and a locomotive.
This was a single platform station. The site has been re-developed as part of a garden.

The platform here remains in good condition. Traces of the goods yard further east can be found, there was a sawmill here.

This was a siding associated with a quarry near Kintore.
This station had a junction at its north end for between the single track Alford line and the Keith to Aberdeen main line of the Great North of Scotland Railway which was double track. There was a bay platform for Alford trains.
